AJ Cybertron, a subsidiary of Analytik Jena AG, is for more than 20 years successfully engaged in automation engineering. In the past the main areas were handling and automation systems for precision engineering and electrical industry. In addition, a great number of kinematical systems as high-precise linear axes and robot systems were developed, including the appropriate control systems. These devices were used as OEM-components as well as for projects developed by Cybertron.

At the end of the 1990th it become obvious, that the rapid developments in bio- and genetechnology as well as in medicine technology would create a great demand for automation solutions for laboratory-specific problems. Consequentially, the company evolved during the last years to a competent supplier and service provider in the area of laboratory automation.

The partnership with Analytik Jena AG as a leading supplier of most modern analytic and biolanalytic equipment underlines this development, because the increasing need for fast and fully automatic process flows in the analytics requires increasingly the combination of analytic equipment with intelligent robot technology.

As a strongly development oriented enterprise AJ Cybertron conceives and manufactures solutions for the laboratory automation primarily on the area of liquid and solid sample handling. In addition, a great number of synergy effects result from the integration of the AJ Cybertron in the consolidated companies of Analytik Jena AG.
As a specialist for high-precision movement systems and control technology the enterprise supports the parent company and its subsidiary firms in the development of new products. A result of this cooperation is e.g. the PlateStar, a handling robot for mikrotiter plates, which is adapted to the Spectral-Reader FLASHScan S12 and allows an fully automatic operation of the reader.
